From the charred wood of its Japanese cedar Shou Sugi Ban exteriors, to the traditional timber frame construction of the side entry Cloister, the unmistakable English-style lych gate, and the Travertine “threshing floor’ entry, the inspiration born from a British field barn in Sussex is evident in every masterful detail.  With 5 BEDROOMS and 4.5 BATHS, walls of glass framing jaw-dropping views and simply stunning interiors, The Barn at May River sleeps 12 GUESTS and perfectly blends its dark & moody vibe with modern luxe interior details for a vacation evocative of a luxurious storybook getaway.  

The open and generous main level features wide-open living space designed to ensure family generations can travel and gather together comfortably, to entertain and entice, built simply to make memories for you and your guests. Rustic beamed ceilings, fireplace, and a massive chef’s kitchen with top-of-the-line Monogram appliances, separate butler’s pantry with beverage fridge and ice machine, and a layout that offers loads of prep space should your family cherish nights of cooking together or bringing in the services of our talented private chef. With an enormous custom-made dining table to seat a hungry hoard plus a separate extension that takes it from seating for 12 to seating for 14.  The screened porch off the kitchen offers the perfect spot for cold drinks when it’s time for a break from the fun in the pool, or a place to gather at sunset for cocktails.  Here you’ll also find an outdoor grill with dedicated gas-line. This PET-FRIENDLY vacation getaway means that your family’s furry friend can experience the magic of the lowcountry too.

The industrial-inspired floating staircase leads to the second level where the split floorpan means you’ll discover 3 guest rooms and 2 bathrooms at one end of the barn overlooking the pool, and 2 guest rooms and 2 baths at the other end that showcase views of the orchard and the waterways beyond, each designed to be a quiet, luxurious sanctuary from a day spent exploring the resort.  The Bunkroom with its custom-built, QUEEN over QUEEN bunk beds offers the ideal spot for the kids to curl up with books, share their dreams and bunk together for the night. It shares a Jack & Jill bath with the bedroom next-door. Tucked under dramatic vaulted roof lines, some including French doors that allow you to experience the gentleness of a lowcountry breeze, all the remaining bedrooms at The Barn at May River are appointed with KING BEDS, luxury linens, and Smart, Flat-screen TVs.
